AMCHAM's CEO Servers' Night Makes History in Fundraising Scholarships with 31 CEOs

A record-breaking 16th AMCHAM CEO Servers’ Night

After four-year hiatus caused by COVID-19, this year marked the biggest event in terms of participants and proceeds gained

Entire scholarship funds to go toward supporting university students from financially challenged backgrounds

This year, 31 C-level executives, including key AMCHAM member companies, gathered to serve food and drinks to their colleagues, partners and friends after being given dinner service training by Conrad Seoul staff. This year’s event was marked as the biggest CEO Servers’ Night in AMCHAM history in terms of participants and proceeds. This is the first CEO Servers’ Night hosted since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

AMCHAM Chairman & CEO James Kim stated, “It was a heartwarming experience to bring back the CEO Servers' Night after the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. What made it even more exceptional was the record-breaking participation, with 31 CEO servers—the largest turnout ever for AMCHAM and PFF.”

He continued, “Witnessing these global corporations wholeheartedly embracing CSR activities and making a real impact on society was beyond inspiring. AMCHAM and PFF will continue to work closely with the global business community in Korea to give back in a meaningful way.”

All proceeds from the event, around KRW100,000,000 after covering all expenses, will be donated to the Partners for the Future Foundation to provide scholarships to university students in need.

2023년 11월 15일 – 주한미국상공회의소 (암참; 회장 겸 대표이사 제임스 김)가 11월 14일 콘래드 서울 호텔에서 제16회 ‘암참 CEO 서버스 나이트’를 개최했다. 본 행사는 암참 산하 자선재단인 미래의동반자재단 주최의 연례 장학기금 마련 행사로, 한국 및 다국적 기업의 CEO들이 앞치마를 입고 일일 웨이터로 봉사하는 독특한 형태의 자선 행사이다. 마련된 기금은 경제적으로 어려운 환경에 처해 있는 대학생들을 위해 전액 기부된다.

이번 행사에서 암참 회원사를 포함한 31명의 최고경영자(CEO)들은 콘래드 호텔 직원들에게 기본적인 서빙 교육을 받은 뒤, 초청한 자사 임직원 및 지인들에게 저녁 식사와 와인을 서빙하며 그간의 감사한 마음을 전했다. 코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 2019년 이후 4년만에 재개된 금년 행사는 참가자 수와 수익면에서 모두 사상 최대를 기록했다.

제임스 김 암참 회장 겸 대표이사는 개회사를 통해, “코로나-19 팬데믹의 어려움을 딛고 4년만에 ‘암참 CEO 서버스 나이트’라는 뜻깊은 행사를 재개하게 되어 가슴이 벅차오른다.” 라고 말하며, “무엇보다 역대 최다인 31명의 CEO와 함께 할 수 있어 더욱 뜻깊다.”라고 덧붙였다.

그는 이어, “CSR 활동에 진심을 다하며 선한 영향력 전파하는 데 선뜻 동참해 주신 글로벌 기업 및 대표님들께 깊이 감사드린다.” 라고 말하며, “암참과 미래의동반자재단은 의미 있는 방식으로 사회에 환원하기 위한 방법을 찾기 위해 앞으로도 한국의 글로벌 비즈니스 커뮤니티와 긴밀히 협력하여 나갈 것.”이라고 전했다.

올 해 행사를 통해 마련된 약 1억원의 기금은 (행사 제반 비용 공제 후) 경제적으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 대학생들을 위한 장학금으로 쓰일 예정이다. 또한, 금년 행사에 참석한 CEO는 하기와 같다:
