Philip S. Goldberg was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea on May 5, 2022. He served until recently as U.S. Ambassador to Colombia. In 2018, Ambassador Goldberg served as Charge d’affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, Cuba, followed by a year as a Diplomat in Residence at Georgetown University.
From 2013-2016, Ambassador Goldberg served as U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines. Prior to that assignment, he served as Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Intelligence and Research (2010-2013); U.S. Ambassador to Bolivia (2006-2008); Chief of Mission in Pristina, Kosovo (2004-2006); and Charge d’affaires and Deputy Chief of Mission in Santiago, Chile (2001-2004). From 2009-2010, Ambassador Goldberg was coordinator for the implementation of UN sanctions on North Korea. His other overseas tours included Bogota, Colombia, where he served as the Plan Colombia coordinator, and Pretoria, South Africa.
Ambassador Goldberg was a senior member of the State Department team handling the transition from the Clinton to Bush administrations and served as acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs (2000-2001) and Special Assistant and Executive Assistant to Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott (1996-2000). As the Bosnia Desk Officer and Special Assistant to Ambassador Richard Holbrooke (1994-1996), Ambassador Goldberg was a member of the American negotiating team in the lead-up to the Dayton Peace Conference and Chief of Staff for the American delegation at Dayton.
Ambassador Goldberg holds the personal rank of Career Ambassador, the highest rank in the U.S. Foreign Service. He has received numerous awards, including Presidential Distinguished and Meritorious Service Awards; the Department’s Distinguished Honor Award and the Silver Seal Medallion for Meritorious Service in the U.S. Intelligence Community.
Ambassador Goldberg is a native of Boston, Massachusetts, and a graduate of Boston University. Before joining the Foreign Service, he served as a liaison officer between the government of the City of New York and the United Nations and Consular Community.

James Kim is Chairman and CEO of AMCHAM Korea. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Mirae Assets Global Investments and holds a role as an Independent Director of Hyundai Mobis, a publicly listed company. Mr. Kim is a Korean-American who is passionate about promoting the commercial interests between the United States and Korea.
Prior to AMCHAM, Mr. Kim served as Chairman and CEO of GM Korea. At GM Korea, Mr. Kim was responsible for the total operations encompassing 17,000 employees (sales, manufacturing, distribution and design). Mr. Kim also had oversight responsibilities with GM’s joint venture operations in Uzbekistan.
Mr. Kim joined GM Korea from Microsoft Korea, where he had served as Country Manager and CEO. His previous roles include CEO of Yahoo! Korea and Asia Regional Vice President of Overture (a wholly owned subsidiary of Yahoo).
Before his tenure at Yahoo, Mr. Kim's career was primarily based in the United States, where he served as Managing Partner at Palisades Advisors in New York. Preceding his time at Palisades, he held several notable positions, including CEO of Corcoran.com, CEO of Vivien International, and National Marketing Manager at AT&T.
Mr. Kim is frequently featured in leading Korean and international media as an authority on the relationship between Korea and the United States. Mr. Kim's contributions extend beyond his professional endeavors. He received a Presidential Commendation in the Cooperation for Tax Administration Category at the 58th Taxpayer's Day, recognized by the National Tax Service. Mr. Kim is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA from Harvard University.
As an avid tennis player, Mr. Kim serves as the official “Wilson Brand Ambassador.” Mr. Kim lives in Seoul, Korea with his spouse and has two grown children.

Henry An is a Senior Partner at Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers, which is the Korean member firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Henry has accumulated over 25 years of experience providing various types of consulting services in the U.S. (Washington National Tax, Chicago, New York Metro) and Korea. He specializes in providing advice on complex business and tax issues.
He has been recognized in Legal Media Group’s Guide to the World’s Leading Tax Advisers and Transfer Pricing Advisers every year since 2004. He has also been recognized in Legal Media Group’s Best of the Best as one of the top transfer pricing advisers worldwide since 2011 and in International Tax Review’s Tax Controversy Leaders every year since 2013.
Henry has served as an external adviser to Korea’s National Tax Service, Korea Customs Service, Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Office of the Prime Minister and the President’s Transition Committee.

a foreign area officer (FAO) specializing in Korea affairs with the U.S. Army,

Joint U.S. Military Affairs Group-Korea from 2009 to 2014, overseeing military
sales and defense security cooperation activities to the Republic of Korea.

Indo-Pacific Command, U.S.-ROK Combined Forces Command, and the U.S. Embassy,
Seoul, Korea.

Mark Lee is the newly appointed Apple Korea President. In his role, Mark is responsible for driving the expansion of sales and market share growth in the Korea region.
Prior to Apple, Mark was the Country President and General Manager of Applied Materials Korea. Geannie has been appointed as Chubb Group Senior Country Officer for Korea in 2023 after becoming CEO of LINA Life Insurance in 2020. She is responsible for the overall management, growth and profitability of Chubb business in Korea. In her previous role as COO and Chief of Staff of LINA, she was responsible for all sales channels including its retail telemarketing and B2B general agency and bancassurance, affinity and brand marketing, operations, legal and compliance and human resources. She joined the company in 2011 as head of strategic planning, leading key projects such as setting up the general agency channel now accounting for almost half of the company’s new business sales and purchase of LINA Tower, the first real estate purchase outside US to support the company’s growing business needs. As Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company Korea, Soyoun Kim leads strategy development and business execution, further strengthening the Company’s presence in Korea. Soyoun is a media and entertainment expert with more than 15 years of experience at Disney where she spearheaded the growth of various businesses and elevated the Company’s business expansion in Korea.
In her previous role as General Manager of Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), Soyoun has led innovation in the rapidly changing media landscape and successfully launched Disney+ in November 2021. Disney+ has been actively building its content slate by announcing over 20 Korean titles in 2022, including at least 12 Korean originals. Soyoun will continue to oversee the DTC business in Korea until a replacement has been identified.
In her previous role as General Manager of Consumer Products, Soyoun led collaborations with local partners that resulted in the growth of the licensing business, expanding the Company’s IPs into a wide range of consumer products. She also orchestrated the development of locally relevant creatives and products, playing a pivotal role in providing consumers with the best branded experiences.
Prior to this, Soyoun served as Head of Media Distribution in Korea, where she successfully drove content digital transformation strategy and business growth. She also worked in Channel Distribution at The Walt Disney Company Korea.

Tyler Kim is Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific for Weber Shandwick.
Having served as Vice Chair, Asia Pacific and Managing Director, North Asia for three years prior, Tyler also led the firms Korean operation for nine years. Tyler was appointed as the CEO, Asia Pacific in 2021 to drive the firm’s overall business strategy, helping multinational clients nurture business in the global markets.
With over three decades of experience in business and strategic communications, during his career, Tyler has counseled a wide range of senior executives of multinational corporations, providing them with strategies for a broad array of initiatives, including market entry, corporate positioning, crisis & Issues management, labor issues counsel and marketing communications.
In 2018, Tyler was named Innovator 25 as part of Provoke’s Asia Pacific. This was in recognition of his efforts to launch Weber Shandwick Korea in 2009 and subsequently doubling the size of the business in the first year alone, while going on to exceeding 60% growth in the following years. In November 2012, the office grew further when it successfully absorbed one of Korean leading social/digital firm, SocialLink under Tyler’s initiative.
Prior to launching Weber Shandwick in Korea, Tyler managed Edelman Korea’s office for almost three years as managing director. Under his
leadership, the office was considered as most profitable market in Asia Pacific. In 2008, the firm was chosen as the Agency of the Year by Korea Public Relations Association. Before he joined Edelman, Tyler co-founded an agency and managed it for 10 years.
A celebrated professional within the industry and beyond, Tyler is active in Korea’s business community. He currently holds the co-chair position of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea’s Marketing and Communications committee and also sits on the Board for Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

Youngje Kim is General Manager, Asia Pacific, Defense & Systems, where he drives the growth of GE Aerospace’s engine fleet in the region which includes Australia, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan as well as Southeast Asian countries. In addition to this role, Youngje also serves as President of GE Aerospace Korea.
Youngje is a proven leader who has held
various leadership roles with over 18 years of experience in the aviation
industry. Prior to his current role, Youngje was
the Regional Vice President for North Asia, covering Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam,
and the Philippines. He has also held several key leadership roles in GE
Aerospace’s headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, where he drove the
development of new products and services and led commercial engine and services
contract negotiations with GE Aerospace’s key customers.
Youngje’s career with
GE began in 2007, as Sales Manager for the Korean military engine programs. His
role then expanded to international engine programs, where he won multiple
campaigns valued at more than USD$3 billion.
Before joining GE,
Youngje was a maintenance engineering operations and interpretation officer for
the Republic of Korea Air Force.
Youngje graduated
from Syracuse University as a University Scholar with a Bachelor of Science in
Business, Economy, and Information Science. He also holds a master’s degree in
Business Administration from Korea University.
Beyond his work at
GE, Youngje is an active member of the Board of Governors of AMCHAM Korea and
leads the Aerospace and Defence committee as Co-chair.
In 2021, Youngje was recognized by the Korean Government as a Person of Merit for his contributions to the development of the country’s industry and economy and received the MOTIE Minister’s commendation at the Trade Day organized by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MoTIE).

Wonik Lee is a Vice President in Lockheed Martin and Country Executive for Korea. In this capacity, he leads the company’s’ corporate business focus on collaborative growth and serves as the executive representative for all Lockheed Martin programs, products and services across the country.
An experienced aerospace and defense executive with 20 years of industry experience, Wonik was with Dassault Systemes Korea leading public sector business and country strategy. Prior to his time at Dassault Systemes, Wonik spent a decade with Airbus based both in South Korea and in France handling commercial affairs, international cooperation & offset, and strategy. Early on in his career, Wonik was with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) and involved with the T-50 advanced trainer jet as part of the joint KAI-Lockheed Martin team. He has also served with the US Army in Korea at Camp Castle as KATUSA and Squad Leader in Combat Engineer Battalion.

Kenan was appointed as the President of ExxonMobil Korea Inc. on September 1, 2022, and assumed the role of ExxonMobil’s Lead Country Manager in S. Korea.
Kenan graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, USA in 1995 with a degree in International Economics. Kenan later received International Management degree from Harvard University in Boston, MA, USA in 1998 and Masters of Business Administration degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, USA in 2001.
Kenan began his ExxonMobil career at ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing Company in Houston, USA in 2001 in New Business Development. After a series of business development and gas marketing assignments in Houston, Moscow and London, in 2010 Kenan became the New Business Development Manager for Europe, Turkey and Caspian, based in London, UK.
In 2012-2016, Kenan worked at ExxonMobil Upstream Ventures in London in a role of Commercial Manager responsible for identification, appraisal, and pursuit of new upstream opportunities in Europe, Russia, Caspian, Middle East, and Africa.
In summer 2016, Kenan relocated to Moscow, Russia to assume the role of Vice President - Commercial for ExxonMobil affiliates in Russia. For the following six years Kenan was responsible for the development of Exxon Neftegas Limited operated Sakhalin-1 Project, including implementation of RFE LNG Project, and for commercial oversight of other ExxonMobil activities in Russia.
During the summer of 2022, Kenan has completed the assignment in Russia and relocated to S. Korea to assume his current role. Kenan now resides in Seoul with his wife and three kids.

He joined J&J in 2014 as CFO of J&J Medical Devices North Asia and Ethicon Asia-Pacific. Then, he moved to the United States Global HQ in 2016 and took senior leadership positions in Janssen Pharmaceutical R&D and MedTech Supply Chain before returning back to the Asia-Pacific region in 2022 to assume his current role. During his time in the US, he led strategic initiatives that drove R&D portfolio pipeline value, accelerated data sciences and major transformation projects to reshape global footprint of end-to-end supply chain.
He is passionate about driving innovation in health care industry to elevate standard of care and developing global minded leaders from Asia-Pacific region to the global stage. He also actively contributes to the innovation ecosystem in Boston, NYC and Seoul through angel investing and mentorship to the start-up companies.
Prior to J&J, he worked for P&G in the Asia-Pacific region with increasing responsibilities leading teams in Japan, Korea and Singapore.

Mr. Si serves as the President & Representative Director of Inspire Entertainment Resort, a USD $1.6 billion integrated resort project near Incheon International Airport Terminal 2. Opened in late 2023, the resort includes 1,275 5-star hotel rooms, a 15,000-seat arena designed for world-class concerts, a convention center featuring the largest hotel ballroom in Korea, an all-year-round indoor water park, an upscale retail mall, a digital art Museum, and a foreigner-only casino.
The largest of its kind in Northeast Asia, the Inspire Project is a foreign-direct investment by Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) based in the United States. Owned by the Mohegan Tribe, MGE also operates several gaming resorts in North America, including the flagship Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.
As the leader of the Inspire project, Mr. Si oversees all aspects of the development and operations of the resort. Before joining the project in summer 2022, Mr. Si had worked 10+ years across various senior leadership roles in Las Vegas, Singapore, and Macau, primarily with Las Vegas Sands Corp., the largest integrated resort company in the world.
Before joining the integrated resort industry, Mr. Si worked as a management consultant for McKinsey & Co. in the United States. An American citizen, Mr. Si grew up in both China and the United States and is a native speaker of both English and Mandarin. Mr. Si earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Patrick Storey is Country Manager for Korea and Mongolia based in Seoul, Korea. He is responsible for business operations, strategy development and management of Visa’s businesses in both Korea and Mongolia.

Previously, Patrick was Vice President, Visa Consulting and Analytics for Visa in Asia Pacific and before that he led Business Planning and Operations for Visa in Asia Pacific. Patrick was also responsible for Visa’s regional relationship and business with one of Visa’s key global clients.

Catherine Teng is a General Manager of the Korea Affiliate, The Estée Lauder Companies (ELCA Korea Ltd.), since September 2021. Catherine is a seasoned consumer industry expert with around 30 years of experience across various sectors including cosmetic/beauty, food, sports brand and electronics. She has demonstrated successful leadership roles in the APAC markets and in-depth culture and market penetration from the working experience in Japan and China. As the General Manager of the Korea Affiliate, she oversees the affiliate strategy and brands, and manages corporate functions, channels, and people management in the market.
Catherine joined ELC in late
2019 as General Manager of Taiwan Affiliate of ELC and has leveraged her
marketing and brand building experience to accelerate strategic transformation,
developing channels, categories, functions and people, achieving strong
results, and building a strong team culture.

joining ELC, Catherine was Chief Marketing Officer/Vice President at Samsung
Electronics, Greater China. Early in her career, Catherine joined Procter &

Ramzi Toubassy is President & CEO of AIG Korea. He has more than 24 years’ industry experience and has worked in various geographies across the United States, Middle East and Asia.
Ramzi began his career with AIG in 1996 as a Management Associate in New York, and over the next 14 years held senior leadership roles in agency distribution while based in Lebanon, Hong Kong and Malaysia. In 2009 he moved to AIA Korea as the Deputy General Manager & Director of Distribution. Following this Ramzi worked with AIA Vietnam and MetLife in Dubai and in 2014 became the CEO of AmMetLife Insurance Berhad, Malaysia. He rejoined AIG in April 2021.

Prior to his arrival in Korea in August 2023, Hector was based in Mexico where he served as the Vice President of Sales, Service and Marketing for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. In his capacity, he successfully grew the commercial operations of GM Mexico across 4 brands including Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac.
Hector joined GM back in 1990 and throughout his 33 years of experience in the automotive industry, he has worked all around the world including Korea, Southeast Asia, Russia, Uzbekistan, other neighboring CIS countries, and Mexico where he held various leadership positions across manufacturing engineering, product planning, program management, sales, and general management.
Hector has previously served on the Board of Directors for AMCHAM Thailand and Russia.

Myung-Soon (MS) Yoo is Chief Executive Officer of Citibank Korea Inc. and Citi Country Officer for Korea since October 2020.
MS has been in the banking industry for more than 30 years and has extensive experience in working with institutional clients, including public sector clients. Prior to her current role, she was Head of Corporate Banking responsible for driving Institutional Client Group strategy by providing full spectrum of banking services leveraging Citi’s strong global platform and network.
MS started her career with Citi in Risk Management Group in 1987. She led the Multi National Company Subsidiary Group in 2002 and became Head of Global Transaction Services in 2009 at Citi Korea. She also worked at JP Morgan Chase Bank Seoul Branch as Branch Manager from 2014 till returning to Citi in 2015.
She holds MBA from Sogang University and a BA in English Education from Ewha Women’s University. She is married and has 2 daughters.

Soojin Yu is Country director - South Korea since January 2016. In this role, she oversees general management of Hawaiian’s commercial activities in South Korea.
Soojin has more than 30 years of experience in aviation, aeronautics, automobile and broadcast. Prior to joining Hawaiian airlines, she served as China business manager - Asia Pacific region for Renault Samsung Motors in South Korea, where she led new vehicle development projects and new business platform initiatives.
Previously, Soojin worked as the marketing and communications manager for Air France KLM, and also served as an interpreter for pilots and mechanics for Samsung Aerospace and Eurocopteur. She began her career working in foreign exchange at the Banque Indosuez in Seoul.
Born and raised in Busan, Soojin holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Yonsei University in Seoul.

Alexei Kral is the Minister-Counselor for Economic Affairs at U.S. Embassy Seoul from August 2024. This is his third time to serve in Korea. Mr. Kral’s other assignments include Tokyo, Ulaanbaatar, Sydney, National Defense University, the State Department, and most recently, Director of the Foreign Service Institute Yokohama Field School.
Mr. Kral grew up around the world, finishing high school at the
International School Bangkok. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna
cum laude from Georgetown University, and earned an M.A. at the
University of Chicago. Mr. Kral also received a mid-career, second
Master’s degree from the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource
Strategy. Before joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Kral worked as an
Asia Program Associate at the Wilson Center, a Washington think tank, and in
local government in Japan.
Mr. Kral and his wife enjoy exploring Korean history and culture. Their three children are college age and grown up, keeping friends and memories from their childhood years in Seoul.

Andrew Gately is Senior Commercial officer at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, Korea. He previously served as Deputy Senior Commercial Officer at the American Institute in Taiwan. During his tenure in Taiwan, Andrew and his team were awarded the Department of Commerce’s top honor, the Gold Medal, for successfully attracting a $40 billion semiconductor fab to the United States.
Andrew received his BA in anthropology from Wake Forest University and his MA in international relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He is married and has two children.
